I started in the fire service in 1974 as a volunteer firefighter in Hastings, Michigan. I became chief of
that department in 1981 and am presently still the fire chief. I started out selling Fire Apparatus in
1988. at which time C & R Fire Equipment Sales was established. Seeing the need for departments in the area
to be able to purchase additional equipment at a reasonable price, I started selling other lines of fire equipment in
1989, covering the State of Michigan.
